History;
Raymond was born and raised in the Circus Delial to a pair of performers with an extravagant, romantic story they liked to tell. His mother was a foreign noblewoman, rejected by her family for her flamboyant ways. His father was a poor sailor who fell in love with her. The stories that they told people changed every time. One day there were duels for her hand in marriage, dragons the next, magic, adventure, narrow escapes. But in reality they were nothing other than a pair of commonborn farmers who grew tired of the lack of substance in their lives and ran off to join the circus when the chance arose.

A year after his birth, his mother gave birth to another child, a girl this time, and named her Clara. It wasn't until his father died when he was eleven that his mother told them that Clara hadn't been his father's child. She'd had an affair with a young, handsome performer-- a dancer, and evidently, Clara was his.

What little affection Clara and he had between them completely dissolved, and the rivalry they had grew fiercer, and far more competitive. Raymond had by then decided that despised the dance and continued with acrobatics (like his father), proving to be quite talented, though he was never quite as adored as sweet, pretty Clara, which annoyed him to no end. As the years passed the rivalry extended beyond their performances, into squabbling over their mother's affection, into their supposed friendships and even romances because attempting to make eachother's lives a living hell had become something of a second nature to them.

For a brief period of time, his mother's lover and he were referred to as "Big Ray" and "Little Ray". Some even had the nerve to call him "Ray Junior". Raymond hasn't really liked his name since, and taken a particular loathing towards the shortening of it.

Personality;
Raymond is perhaps best described as "prickly." He's irritable, easily annoyed, easily offended and hardly the best when it comes to holding his tongue. When he wants to say something, he will say it and deal with the consequences should they happen to come. That, or he'll walk away very quickly and try to avoid having to face it.

Raymond is far past trying to please people he doesn't have to, and seems to make an effort to have them dislike him, instead. He's quite picky about making friends and as a result has next to none. He has a very poor opinion of people in general, much more prone to believing the worst in them than considering that maybe, just maybe, he might find something he likes about them.

He's very uptight, but not without a sense of humour, though even that leaves a little to be desired. Mainly because most of the amusement he gets from anywhere is related to people he doesn't like and some sort of pain. He likes to make jokes about it.

Appearance;
Raymond has dark hair and bright green eyes, his most noticeable features. He's not as tall as he ought to be and is stick thin. He dresses mostly in blue or black-- the latter when performing. He's also very graceful in his movements.
